Dolores “Dee” Baker

Dolores “Dee” Baker, 90, returned to her heavenly home on November 2, 2017 after a valiant battle with an illness. Her devotion to her family and her belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace. Dolores was born to the late Garrett and Corrie Holcomb, a farmer and a homemaker respectively, in Happy, Texas on June 26th, 1927. She immersed in the Christian community, that would be her lifelong support, from an early age. She attended the Draughon’s Practical Business College. Dolores was blessed with a large and loving family. She married Roger Ray Baker on February 9th, 1946 in Sweetwater, Texas. Dolores helped raise her two children with patience, discipline and humility. She raised them in the faith. They often took family trips to visit extended family and traveled with Roger’s job. Dolores is dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact she is at peace with her creator. Dolores is survived by her daughter Judy and son-in-law Gary Huff, her son Roger Baker, her grandchildren Paul and Nelly Huff, Dr. Amy Baker, Jason Baker, Jennifer and Matt Chambers and Matt and Kristi Baker. Her great grandchildren, Trent Huff, Trinity Chambers, Savannah Chambers and Kalette Baker. She is preceded in death by her husband Roger Baker, her brother Jackie Holcomb, and her parents. A viewing was held on November 10, 2017 at Green Hills Mortuary. A service to celebrate Dolores’s life was held at the Historical Chapel in Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes, California on Saturday, November 11, 2017. Reverend E. Leroy Baker officiated the service. She was buried at Green Hills Memorial Park.
