Fisher Co. Hospital cuts retirement to slow declining finances

The Fisher County hospital board voted unanimously Monday night, approving the 50% cut to employee retirement, hoping the administration can balance declining revenue with increasing expenditures in the midst of repaying substantial federal funds.

Board members have been wrestling with the controversial issue and the decision to possibly reducing the hospital’s contribution to employee retirement since it was proposed some months ago.
