Small Town Blessings

There are times I wonder why we live out here in the west Texas Rolling Plains where we do. Some of the reasons are grown and gone now and, truth told, it was a great place to raise them. Those good jobs that held us here are over with and we have long since retired. Still, something binds us here. It may be that we have grown too used to not having a mortgage these days, and there is that network of good friends that we’d hate to leave behind. However, here there is an easy, small-town comfort in knowing how things work and who the people are who are doing those things. It is the place we have come to call home, and God has richly blessed us here.

But there are also other reasons.
