Fisher County Jail fails state inspection

During the commissioners court meeting Monday, Fisher County Judge Ken Holt and Sheriff H.T. Fillingim discussed the recent jail inspection, where the state discovered a total of 12 non-compliant violations at the facility.

Fillingim said the inspector, Shane Sowell, told him most of the deficiencies were simply “a paper shuffle” and not a big deal. He went on to say most of the deficiencies were remedied before the inspector left, as many violations were due to a lack of documentation and that the department was now using the most updated and correct forms.
