Oil spill on Double Mountain Fork of Brazos River

The Fisher County Sheriff’s Department received initial calls from local land managers around 3 p.m. Friday, May 18, reporting spilled oil flowing down the Double Mountain Fork of the Brazos River. Although no residue has been observed since Monday, May 22, the Railroad Commission continues to search for the source of the spill. As reports continued, in the hours that followed, a virtual alphabet soup of government agencies was called into action.
