Louise Faught Mahaffey, 89 of Vernon, Texas died on Monday, June 11, 2018, in Vernon, Texas. Graveside services will be Friday, June 15, 2018 at 1:00 PM at McCaulley Cemetery in McCaulley, TX. under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home, Vernon, TX. Officiating will be bro. James “Jim” Salisbury. Louise was born Monday, July 16, 1928 in Arlie, Texas; Louise was the first child to the late James Samuel Faught and the late Mary Smith Faught and the only sister to Howard Wayne, Calvin Ray and John Edd Faught. She married J.T. Mahaffey in 1974 in Roby, TX. he preceded her in death. She was a member Texas Extension Education Association Club for 62 years. She was awarded Distinguished Volunteer Leader of Texas 4-H Club. She was a volunteer for United Samaritan Services of Vernon. Louise was a member of Second Baptist Church and Faithful Workers Sunday School Class; she was a teacher for Vacation Bible School. She was a homemaker. Louise is survived by two sons, Don Myers & wife Vickie of Odessa, TX and Philip Cleveland & wife Kim of Palm Bay, FL, one daughter, Annette Hatley of Vernon, TX, one brother, Calvin Faught of Hamlin, TX; six grandchildren; Matthew Myers and wife Carly, Jennifer Hatley, Stacie Myers, Kenneth Hatley, Melissa and husband Paul Palacio and Michelle Johnson and husband Sean. thirteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband J.T. Mahaffey and two brothers Howard and John Edd Faught. Family visitation will be Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.
