The Fisher County Commissioners accepted County Treasurer Shana Haas’ resignation during Tuesday’s meeting as well as approving the cost of security improvements at the jail. The court also agreed to leave County Road 250 open to the public.

In her statement to the court, Haas said: “With the joyful heart, I, Shana Haas, am resigning as Fisher County Treas., effective October 19. At that time, Gina Parks, the treasurer-elect, will be ready and willing to take over the position as Fisher County Treas. Thank you.”

The commissioners accepted the resignation unanimously and went on to appoint Parks for the remainder of the unexpired term.
