Good morning from the world of tall trees and tall Holland People. I feel like a little person when I come to Kentucky because I look up to most folks! The big old trees are just out of this world awesome, but they are not as pretty this year like they were last year. David, Joe’s man that leases his place, told me the hot weather they had for a week, followed by an early hard frost last week, that made the colors dull.

Then they had wind the past few days, and that brought the leaves off the trees and on the ground! That’s not the only thing on the ground, they have made a huge crop of those old big black walnuts, and they sound like a shotgun going off when they hit the roof, It sure would make a knot on your head if one hit you. The little squirrels will be well fed this year, the ground is covered with them and they just keep falling.
