Medical record keeping upgrade slows billing: SMH still expected to finish in the black

Although the recent transition to the Athena Group has caused glitches that slowed hospital billing, the administration anticipates finishing the year with around $500,000 in profit. The Stonewall Memorial Board was also updated on nursing home construction progress and looked into increasing rates at the facility before conducting regular business last week.

The board approved the transition to Athena from their former medical record keeping service provider, CPSI, back in April. The move was anticipated to save the hospital around $200,000 annually. Additionally, Hospital Administrator Andy Kolb had said reviews of Athena reported medical staff favored it.
