Wow! What a wonderful Thanksgiving the Greenway Family had, all of us were together, and we all ate too much! Crystal, my granddaughter, had asked to cook Thanksgiving dinner and I told her wonderful, she, cooked the dressing, Charlie, Brian’s wife brought pies, and of course the deviled eggs that the family fights over, Lance brought a tray of veg-, Jay turkey, ., Jay can make my hot rolls as well as I can, and I made the giblet gravy since Crystal said, “Grandma I don’t have a recipe for it, so I’ve got to get one wrote for her,. We had a grand time, and it was such a pretty day. We left about 3:00 because the great grandsons said, “Grandma we’re going hunting this evening!

Well, Ryan the 8 year old had a wonderful experience he got an 8 point buck, and that smile was clear across his face, that is one experience he will never forget. We all went to Rotan last Monday night and had the Senior Citizen Dance, had a good time, visited with all of our friends that we hadn’t seen for a month. Joe and I have worked outside when we can, the wind has blown so hard and boy it is cold, that is one thing in Kentucky it may be colder in temperature there but it doesn’t seem that cold because the wind does not blow 30 miles and hour. If they have a gentle breeze they think it’s horrible, I told them not to come to our part of Texas, they’d think they were going to be blown away! I have been making apple cobblers with the apples we have brought back from Kentucky, the pears did not keep at all, and I just knew they would, I got one pear cobbler out of them, I was so disappointed because they are so good and sweet,. I wish we could move that pear tree here, or even knew what kind it was, but so many years since it was planted no one knows, not even Joe’s older brother, He told Joe it had been there as long as he could remember and he’s 95, and it was a large tree when he was growing up, so guess we will just enjoy it when we are there, all the neighbors enjoy it, when the boys are planting corn or soy beans back at the back of the fields, they always pick some of them to eat,. James told Joe that keeps him planting longer, he eats pears. David, James’ dad that leases Joe’s place has such good young men, two of them and you would think Joe Pat is their grandad, and they have just opened their arms to me and I’m grandma sure makes me feel welcome.
