Dalton Hursley Arrington, 89, of Kennesaw, Georgia, passed away on the morning of 14 November, 2018 at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital after a long and difficult battle with cancer.

Dalton lived in the Atlanta, Georgia area since 1962. He was born in Cisco, Texas and grew up in Rotan, Texas with his parents, G. H. Arrington and Ura (Wright) Arrington, experiencing the Great Depression as a child, World War II as a teen, and the Korean War as Machinist Mate in the United States Navy. After his service in the Navy, Dalton returned to Fisher County, Texas and married Frances Jane Hall of Roby, Texas. He then began a long career as an aircraft design engineer, working for many years at Lockheed Aircraft Co. in Marietta, Georgia and also at Boeing, Sikorsky, and Beech Aircraft. In 1972, Dalton married his second wife, Patricia Kay Hale. Dalton enjoyed fishing for large-mouth bass, riding his motorcycle (into his late 80s), and rooting for his beloved Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Falcons.

Dalton was preceded in death by his wife, Pat, and his granddaughter, Amanda Caroline Arrington. He is survived by two sons, Owen Patrick Arrington and Kevin Lynn Arrington, five grandchildren, Samuel Arrington, Sean Arrington, Matthew Arrington, Leah Arrington, and Jarom Arrington, two great-grandchildren, Eli Arrington and Maggie Arrington, his niece, Lora (Hale) Pace, and long-time friend, Lois Rushing.

Viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, the 26th of November, 2018 at the Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home at 180 Church Street NE, Marietta, Georgia. (www.mayeswarddobbins.com) Funeral services will be immediately after the viewing at 11:00 a.m.
