Hammers have tough week on all fronts

On December 11, the Junior Varsity Boys were defeated by the Blackwell Hornets 8-44. The stats as follows: DiAndre Yanez-3 RBS; Johnnie Perez-2 PTS, 3 RBS, 2 steals, and 1 assist; Kristopher Smith-1 steal; Kaden Dycus-1 Point, 4 RBS, and 1 assist; Zachary Rivas-2 PTS; Simon Flores-3 PTS and 3 RBS; Tanner Ray-3 RBS and Max Perales.

The Rotan Varsity Team played after the Junior Varsity game. The team went on a 5-0 run to lead with 5:53 left in the opening period. The Hornets closed the gap with 4:52 left on the clock...Rotan 5 and Blackwell 4. The Hammers outscored the Hornets in the final 1:53 to take the 11-6 lead at the end of the opening period. In the second period, the Hammers only grabbed 3 defensive rebounds; they were outscored 9-18 and trailed at the end of the second period...20-24. The Hammers were outscored by the Hornets in the third period and trailed 29-37 going into the final period.The team cut into the lead with 2:23 left in the game...Rotan 38 and Blackwell 43. As the final horn sounded the final score was Rotan 38 and Blackwell 48. The following stats: Gaberial Daniel-9 PTS, 11 RBS, 3 assists, and 1 steal; Koy Bell-15 PTS (shot 75% from the foul line—making 4 out of 5 shots) and 8 RBS; Tanner Tankersly-3 PTS, 2 RBS, and 2 assists; Noah Foster-10 PTS, 3 RBS, and 2 assists; CJ Rivas-3 RBS; Cody Cope-1 RB; Hunter Elrod-1 Point and 4 RBS.The Junior High Girls were defeated by the Abilene Christian Junior High 21-22. The Junior High Boys team defeated the Abilene Christian Boys 28-21...I was given the boys individual points as follows: Jordan Daniel-8, Jaxon Warren-8, Hunter Harris-6, and Kaeden Kresbsbach-6.
