Lion’s week of play rounded out by wins over rival Hammers

Roby played Lueders -Avoca on Friday in Avoca. Both the Lady Lions won, with the boys playing hard but losing to the Raiders. The J.V. girls got off to a slow start falling behind quickly, but were spurred on by Karen Harris coming off the bench to nail 3 of her 5 3 point shots on the night. Hilda Gutierrez snagged 11 rebounds and the J.V. girts scored more in the first half then they have scored in an entire game this season. They led 28 -16 at the half. They go on to win 38-34. The girls were led by Kaden Harris 15 points, 6 rebounds, Teresa Fortuna, 6 points, 5 rebounds Zena Hargrove 6 points, Laramie Harris 5 points, 2 rebounds, Hilda Gutierrez 4 points, 11 rebounds, Taylor Moore 3 points, 1 rebound and Mackenzie Subia 2 points, 6 rebounds. The Varsity Lady Lions then defeated the Lady Raiders 69 -32. The Lady Lions were up by 16 points at the half and doubled the lead by game's end. There were three Lady Lions in double figures with Emily Branson leading the way with 20 points, followed by Hallie Edmondson with 15 points and Kaylee
