Rotan ISD closes due to illnesses

Faced with a combination of illness, the most prevalent of which are flu, strep throat, and an unknown illness that mimics flu-like symptoms, the Rotan ISD administration has closed school February 7 and 8. Classes are scheduled to resume on Monday, February 11 at the regular time.

Rotan ISD Superintendent Greg Decker said that roughly between 18% to 20% of the student population has already been affected by illness and are currently absent. In the best interest of the overall health and well being of the school and community, as well as preserving the educational environment of the district, he decided to close campuses for the reminder of the week.
