No excuse for staying inside this Saturday, as activities are abundant with just about anything you might be looking for either down the block, around the corner, or just down the road.

Got a little bit of extra cash burning a hole in your pocket? Anything from cupcakes to combines is up for sale this weekend. In Fisher County, the annual Rotan Farm Sale will get kicked off around 7:30 a.m. at the Old Rodeo Grounds 3/4 mile west of Rotan on FM 611.

The sale is much more than an opportunity for local farmers to auction off surplus equipment, it’s a social event where auctioneers call out bids while onlookers can mingle in conversation, sharing stories, or grabbing something to feed their faces and wet their whistles from local concession stands.

Just down the road in Aspermont, the Stonewall County 4-H will be hosting a bake sale at the Lawrence Brothers Grocery Store. Starting up about 9 a.m., young bakers will offer up an assortment of delicious confections from cakes, pies, cookies, cupcakes, and a variety of bread. All proceeds go toward 4-H summer camp enrollment fees and 4-H activities.
