Aspermont Elementary students put their writing skills to work last spring in more ways than to earn test scores, as they also discovered the power of writing letters to school officials to address student needs. Last week, their hard work paid off in cool, clear, water for thirsty elementary students for years to come.

At the end of last year, AISD’s first-grade class at exercised their first amendment right with each student writing a letter to Superintendent Zach Morris in the hopes of getting a new water fountain installed on the elementary playground. Students discussed health and safety benefits of proper hydration while playing outside and plead for consideration.
