In response to a call from the Hamlin Police Department, the Fisher County Sheriff’s Department tracked down a stolen vehicle in Rotan last Thursday, and after a brief search of the property, located and arrested the perpetrator of the crime.

Hamlin PD notified the Fisher County Sheriff’s Department to be on the lookout for a white, 1989, GMC half-ton truck that was stolen Thursday and last seen last leaving Hamlin on Hwy 92 headed toward Rotan. HPD reported that Ringo Amador Jr. (18) from Hamlin swiped the keys and took off in the truck following a family dispute at his parents’ residence.

Police said Amador left the home but soon after returned and parked briefly in the driveway behind his parents’ newer vehicle. He then reversed the truck and crashed the half-ton GMC into the rear of the vehicle, causing significant damage, before driving away.
