After a little less than 45 minutes behind closed doors Monday, the Stonewall County Commissioners hired a new foreman to oversee the county’s road and bridge department. The court voted unanimously in favor of hiring Jackie Morrow to replace former road superintendent Don Nail, who resigned some months ago.

The court recently appointed Commissioner David Hoy as interim supervisor until a fulltime replacement could be hired. He has been evaluating roads and making assessments of work to be done in the upcoming months. It is anticipated Hoy will continue working alongside Morrow during the transition and will be providing regular reports to the court.

It was also reported that the repair work done to County Road 460 was completed and holding up nicely against the recent snowmelt and rainfall.
