March Primary closes in to determine party candidates and decide some local races

PRECINCT 1 CANDIDATES INCUMBANT, GORDON PIPPIN (R)

With early voting wrapping up at the end of the week, Democrat and Republican parties will focus on the March Primary next Tuesday, and although the outcome will determine party winners and May run-off candidates, local races in Fisher County will reach a final outcome.

Early voting ends this Friday, February 28. Early voters in Fisher County can cast their ballots at Rotan City Hall located at 302 W. Sammy Baugh Ave. or the Fisher County Courthouse in Roby until polls officially close at 5 p.m. Stonewall County residents can vote at the Stonewall County Courthouse in Aspermont, also until 5 p.m. on Friday.

Contested races in Fisher County are for the offices of Fisher Co. Precinct 1 Commissioner between incumbent Gordon Pippin (R) and candidate Dakota Rasberry (R) and Fisher Co. Precinct 3 Commissioner’s office between incumbent Preston Martin (R) and candidate Georgie McGough (R).
