It was a close call last week when a stray bullet was fired through the Giles’ window. The Stonewall County Sheriff’s Department, along with the State Game Warden, conducted a search of the area and confiscated a rifle to conduct ballistic test as part of an ongoing investigation.

George Gilles and his wife were relaxing at home on the evening of June 2 when the 5.56 round broke through their bedroom window. The bullet passed only two feet from Mrs. Giles, ricocheting off a dresser, and imbedding itself in a door jam. Giles called law enforcement officials, who conducted a search of the area.
