Local artist decorates downtown Roby

2019 Roby Graduate, Emilly Branson, is the daughter of Jeff and Deean Branson, owners of Williamson-Branson Real Estate. Emily is currently attending Texas State University to pursue a degree in Psychology.

The small stroke of a paintbrush only a few inches wide is dwarfed by the massive mural on the large brick wall of the Williamson-Branson Real Estate building in downtown Roby, Texas. But artist, Emily Branson, continues to patiently paint stroke by stroke, layer upon layer, and color upon color despite the West Texas heat.

Slowly, the rows of cotton have begun to take shape and come to life across the Texas landscape, and soon travelers from all over will witness a masterpiece that began long before the artist was born.

August 1, 1944, in the small cotton farming town of Roby, Texas a man by the name of Larry Williamson was born. In 1962 he graduated from Roby High and on January 24, 1964, he married the love of his life, Martha Faye "Marty" Terry.
