UIL Guidelines have local schools preparing for 2021

With the UIL’s recent publication of its COVID-19 Risk Mitigation Guidelines, school districts will be expanding its safety protocols and limiting event capacity, and with regulations for coordinators, participants, audiences, and media alike, the upcoming extracurricular season will be quite different for competitors and fans alike.

As COVID-19 continues to spread across the state and positive cases in Fisher and Stonewall counties continue grow, school districts in those counties are amidst preparations for reopening schools for the 2021 Academic School Year and bombarded with ever-changing rules and recommendations.

Fisher County reported its first case in May, and Stonewall County reported its first earlier this month. Local cases are slowly rising with Stonewall County holding at three cases, and Fisher County reporting a total of 23, with 13 recoveries and 10 active cases.
