MAPMONOPOLY ANYONE?

By Scotty DanielGuest Columnist

You’ll never look at the game the same way again! Starting in 1941, an increasing number of British Airmen found them selves as involuntary guests of the Third Reich, and the Crown was looking about for ways to facilitate their escape. Obviously, one of the most helpful aids to that end is a useful and accurate map, one showing not only where things were, but also showing the locations of “safe houses” where a POW on-the-lam could find food, shelter and assistance in transit. Paper maps had some real drawbacks

.... they make a lot of noise when you open and fold them, they wear out rapidly, and if they get wet, they turn into mush. Someone in Ml-5, (Military Intelligence) got the idea of printing escape maps on silk. It’s durable, can be scrunched-up into tiny wads and unfolded as many times as needed, and makes no noise.

Paxton leads multi-state lawsuit challenging DACA program

By Ed Sterling, Texas Press Association

AUSTIN — Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton on May 1 filed a lawsuit against the federal government to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

The attorneys general of Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Nebraska, South Carolina and West Virginia joined Paxton in the lawsuit. Paxton and the other attorneys general urged the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas to declare DACA unlawful and to stop the federal government from issuing or renewing any DACA permits in the future. Paxton noted the suit does not ask the federal government to remove any alien currently covered by DACA, nor does it ask the Trump administration to rescind DACA permits that have already been issued.

COMING TO AMERICA!

By Scotty Daniel

Did any of you hear about Charlie Grad or Alfie Evans?

They are the result of the British Government’s decision’s to allow two critically ill babies to die in two years ..... a natural result of the culture of death and the steady march toward totalitarianism among Western governments.

Last year, the British Government ORDERD life support be removed from Charlie Grad, ending his life when he was just 11 months old. Now, Alfie Evans, just 23 months old, has received what amounts to the same death sentence. On Monday, April 23rd, he was removed from life support by COURT ORDER - against the wishes of his parents.

Wow what a week, Joe and I have been so busy we have met ourselves coming back and that’s bad on us old folks! Joe got the wire up around his garden and he’s training the cats to stay off his onions. I have laughed and laughed about him and his cats and garden.

I’ll tell you one thing I’m glad I don’t live in Lubbock, Texas. When Joe and I went up there Wednesday the wind and sand was blowing so hard you couldn’t see the road. Sure am glad I live below that Cap Rock. I told Joe that I don’t like it in the winter time because it’s so cold, I don’t like it in the spring time because the wind blows a gale all the time, and the summer time it’s too hot. So, I’m sure glad I live where I do.

I’M AFRAID FOR MY CHILDREN AND GRAND’S FUTURE!

By Scotty Daniel

History has been very, very cruel to nations that enter the state of multicultural chaos. America is currently the world’s oldest democracy but is no more immune from collapse than were some of history’s most stable and impressive consensual governments.

Fifth-century Athens, Republican Rome, Renaissance Florence and Venice and many more Western European states that destroyed themselves, went bankrupt or were overrun by invaders.

What beautiful sunrises we have been having this past week, so many to capture on my canvas. I have to tell myself, “ now Carol you have put your paints up and get ready to go to Kentucky, so don’t even think about painting that sunrise”.

One of our friends are traveling already with their big RV and sent me a text last week, and said, “Carol I just know you will paint a picture of this” and was it beautiful. I captured it to my gallery, and I am going to paint it when we get back from Kentucky or I may take my paints and while Joe fishes I may paint. It was a picture of the blue bonnets, cactus, and looks like poppies somewhere in south Texas. He had forgot where they were when the picture was taken.
