Joe A. Perales passed into his heavenly home on Friday, January 5, 2018 with Susan, his family, and friends at his side. Heaven received a good man with a good heart and those who knew and loved him will forever miss his presence in their lives. Joe lived life to the fullest, enjoying the smallest joys in every day. His many many friends were of every age and from every situation in life. A Celebration of Life was held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at the home of Susan and Joe Perales. 4950 FM 610 Rotan, Texas 79546 (10 miles west of Aspermont, Texas) Directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home. Wear your boots and bring your lawn chairs. Joe’s great joys were Susan, grandkids, his family and friends, and his life-long love of horses. Joe’s life was one fun adventure after another, always involving horses. Horses put him in the paths of people who became friends and family, who he never lost touch with, and loved until the end.

Andrew (Andy) Jackson Willingham January 3, 1928 - December 22, 2017

Andrew Jackson Willingham (Andy), 89, of Rotan, Texas passed away Friday, December 22, 2017. A graveside service will be held at Hobbs Cemetery in Fisher County on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Andy was born January 3, 1928 in Fisher County, Texas. He was the only son of Sterling and Jewel (Beller) Willingham. A 1949 graduate of Texas Technological College, Andy received a degree in Electrical Engineering. He met the love of his life while at Tech, and married Mary Alice Christian on December 9, 1950. He served in the U.S. Army at Fort Rucker, Alabama until his discharge in January, 1953. He then moved his family to Amarillo, Texas to take a job at Marsh Electrical Supply, where he worked until 1972. After moving to Houston to start a new job with Wide Lite Corporation, Andy eventually started his own business, Techna Marketing, Inc., where he worked until he retired. Andy was a man with a strong work ethic and a kind, loving, generous spirit.

Dee Dycus August 14, 1976 - December 20, 2017

Dee Dycus, 41, of Rotan passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017, in Rotan. Funeral services are scheduled for 2pm, Friday, December 22, 2017 at the Rotan Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Belvieu Cemetery. Visitation is set for Thursday, December 21, 2017, at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home, from 6pm-7pm. Dee Edward Dycus was born August 15, 1976, in Rotan, to his parents Jerry Dee and Candy Lee (White) Dycus. Dee was a graduate of Rotan High School and a member of the Rotan Church of Christ. His son, Kaden, was the love of his life; they did everything they could together. Dee served as a troop leader for the boy scouts. His true passion was being a fireman. Dee was a member of the Rotan Volunteer Fire Department. He was currently a Captain; but has held the offices of President, Vice President, and Secretary/Treasurer. Dee was honored by his department as the 2017 Fireman of the Year.

Justin Moffett, 38, of Shallowater, passed away Monday, December 18, 2017 in Shallowater. A memorial service is for 10am, Friday, December 22, 2017, at the First Baptist Church in Rotan, TX. Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home of Rotan is in charge of arrangements. Justin Earl Moffett was born February 17, 1979 in Rotan, TX, to Jerry Lynn and Donna Kay (Tucker) Moffett. Justin’s wife, Candas, and his children were the loves of his life; he lived for them. He loved to take his boys hunting, and coaching them in their favorite sports. Justin also loved his nieces and nephews dearly. He loved being the “favorite uncle”, however that title has been disputed by his brothers. Justin was a gifted salesman and could sell a wet paper bag. Justin loved his family and friends and there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do to help them; he would give any one of them the shirt off his back. He was an outdoorsmen; he loved being outside, hunting, fishing, and grilling out.

Maria Flores August 12, 1933 - December 2, 2017

Maria Flores, 84, died December 2, 2017. Her funeral service will he held on Monday, December 4, 2017 at the Sacred Hearts Catholic Church in El Ranchito at 10:00 am. Rosary will be on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at the Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home Chapel at 6:30 pm. Burial will be at the EL Ranchito Cemetery. Mrs. Flores was born on August 12, 1933 in Gregory, Texas to Guadalupe and Manuela Flores. She was born a fraternal twin to her brother Jesus (Chuy) Flores. She married Domingo R. Flores on December 18, 1951. She was a homemaker for 65 years and raises eleven children. She will be remembered for always being in the kitchen. Tortillas and beans were her favorite. Maria was preceded in death by one daughter, Rosa Cazares. Maria is survived by her husband, Domingo R.

Lawrence Hindes April 6, 1932 - November 27, 2017

Lawrence Hindes, 85, of Rotan, passed away Monday, November 27, 2017, in Sweetwater. A memorial mass service is scheduled for 10am, Saturday, December 2, 2017, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rotan. A rosary service will be held 7pm, Friday, December 1, 2017, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rotan. Lawrence Edward Hindes was born April 6, 1932, in Merrill, WI to Chauncey and Helen Marie (Knudson) Hindes. He enlisted in the Air Force, and served 20 years; retiring as a Major; he served as a navigator/bombardier on the B-52 bombers. It is quite an accomplishment for an enlisted man to retire as a full commissioned officer. Lawrence received his Bachelor’s degree from UTEP. He met the love of his life, Rosemary Brininstool, in Roswell, NM, on a blind date. The two later married in Roswell on January 9, 1960. Lawrence had many interests; one of his greatest joys was taking his grandchildren fishing. Later in his life, he began doing woodworking and became quite skilled.
