Mayme Frances Bristow Craddock

Aspermont - Mayme Frances Bristwo Cradduck, 98, died Sunday, November 18, 2018, in Aspermont. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Mount Hope Cemetery with Pastor Robby Harris, directed by Adams-Graham Funeral Home of Anson.

Born September 15, 1920 in Coal County, Oklahoma, Mayme was a daughter of the late William Oscar and Crechia (Stallcup) Bristow. Born at the same time was Mayme›s identical twin sister, Minnnie Frankie. Mayme grew up in

Oklahoma, where she later married J. C. Cradduck in Stonewall, OK October 16, 1937. They lived in Hardin City, OK, Anson and Gladewater. After J.C. ›s death, Mayme moved to Graham, where she was a member of the First Baptist Church and active in Eastern Star; she later moved to Aspermont to be close to family.

George “Yogi” Louis Velez

April 29, 1956 - September 20, 2018

George “Yogi” Louis Velez, 62, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 20, 2018. Rosary will be held on Sunday, September 23, 2018, from 6-7pm at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral home in Rotan. Visitation will follow from 7-8pm. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, September 24, 2018, at 10am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rotan.

George was born in Rotan, Texas on April 29, 1956, to Frank and Petra Velez. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. Upon returning home to Rotan, he married Angel (Morales) Velez on July 26th, 1976. George was employed by National Gypsum and worked there until his retirement in 2015. George and Angel had two kids, Adriana and Rebecca Velez.

Garland “Soapy” Floyd

August 26, 1931 - September 10, 2018

Garland ( Soapy ) Floyd, 87, passed away September 10, 2018, in Sweetwater, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 13, 2018, at the Weathersbee- Ray Funeral Home Chapel in Rotan, Texas. Burial will be in the Belvieu Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home. A visitation is scheduled on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 form 5-6 pm at the Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home in Rotan. Soapy was born August 26, 1931 to Homer and Vera Mae Floyd. He entered the service in 1951 and proudly served until 1953 in Korea. On June 27, 1953 he married the love of his life, Bonnie Louise, they had one son, Larry Wallace Floyd, and they built a beautiful life together. Soapy and Bonnie were married for 65 years. Soapy was preceded in death by his parents, his son, and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, and several nieces and nephews.
