Ivin Martin, 84, of Rotan passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 1, 2018. Funeral services are set for 2pm, Friday, May 4, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Rotan. Burial will follow in Sardis cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Weathers-bee- Ray Funeral Home from 6pm until 8pm. Ivin H. Martin was born June 9, 1933 in Rotan, TX to William Carl and Stella Mae (Warren) Martin. He graduated from Hobbs High School in 1952. Ivin married his best friend, Anna Beth Burnett, on August 25, 1952 in Mineral Wells, TX; at the home of the local minister. Ivin was a lifelong entrepreneur and was involved with many different businesses; including fiberglass manufacturing, farming and ranching, and Martin Feed & Garden for the last 35 years. He was very community minded, always working to improve and invest in making things better for everyone. Ivin was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Rotan.

Breckenridge-John Richey, 77, passed from this life to the next on Monday, April 30, 2018. Funeral service with Rev. Rex Boggs officiating will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 1:03 PM at Gunsight Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home. John Harvey Richey Jr. was born on November 27, 1940 in Abilene, Texas to John Harvey “Jack” Richey Sr. and Mildred Samford Richey. He graduated from Hamlin, Texas High School and then McMurry University. He had been a teacher, coach, and school administrator in Plains, Ozona, Jayton, and Breckenridge. He married Rayma Lemons on June 2, 2012 in Gardendale, Texas. John was an ordained deacon of the First Baptist Church of Breckenridge in 2008, and then was a member of the Gunsight Baptist Church.

Willis “Doc” Huchingson, loving husband, father, grandfather, went to be with his Lord on April 21, 2018. Services will be at Moore Funeral Chapel on Thursday, April 26, at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Billy Bridges officiating. Visitation on Wednesday, April 25 from 6-8 p.m. Doc was born to Lillian and Orvin Huchingson on August 1, 1929, in Trent, TX. He lived in Jayton and Rotan until his marriage to Rebecca Bowman of Hamlin. They made their home in Arlington, and were married for 67 years. They have 4 children, Brenda Roper, Jerry Huchingson, Janie Clements and husband Tim, Patty Keyser and husband DK. Grandchildren Rhonda, Shannon, Amber, Matt, Shane, Callie and Ashley. Great-grandchildren Ruby, Allison, Bradley, Emmy, Stella, Liam, Macy, Jake, William and one on the way. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian, and stepfather Will Newton, brother LC Huchinson of Rotan, sisters Grace Stanland of Jayton and Jean Stamford of Rotan and grandson Garrett Lee Clements.

Kelley Don Fancher April 23, 1939 - April 7, 2018

Kelley Don Fancher, age 78, of Forney, Texas, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018. He was born April 23, 1939, in Rotan, Texas, to Donald Earl and Kate Richard (Coan) Fancher. Kelley married Ruth Anne Kennedy on August 31, 1957 at Roby First Baptist Church in Roby, Texas. He was route salesman in the dairy industry. Kelley is survived by his wife, Ruth Anne Fancher; his sons, Jimmy Don Fancher of Forney, Texas, and Michael Lee Fancher of Celina, Texas; his sisters, Elaine Shipp and Loraine Edgar, both of Rotan, Texas; grandchildren, Megan Lynnette Fancher and Mason Landon Fancher, of Celina, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Kate Fancher. The family will receive friends during a visitation at Turrentine-Jackson- Morrow Funeral Home, 109 South Oklahoma, Celina, Texas, on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at 2:00 p.m.

Mattie Inez Stephens April 21, 1920 - April 4, 2018

Mattie Inez Stephens, 97, of Roby passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2018 in Roby. Funeral services will be held at 1pm, Saturday, April 7, 2018 in the Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Roby Cemetery. Visitation is set for Friday, April 6, 2018, from 6pm until 8pm at Weathersbee- Ray Funeral Home. Mattie Inez (Boen) Stephens was born in Gustine, TX on April 21, 1920 to Frank and Mattie (Green) Boen. She married J.G. Pullig in 1935 and they were together until his passing in 1971. In 1976, Inez married W.O. Stephens and they were together until his passing in 1995. She was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church in Roby. Inez had many careers throughout her life; she was a homemaker raising 4 children, a school bus driver, school cafeteria worker, and she also served as the Fisher County Treasurer for 8 years. Inez loved quilting and sewing and was an avid sports fan.

Mary Sue Thompson Turpin April 2, 2018

Mary Sue Thompson Turpin, retired Case Worker for West Texas Centers (WTC), passed away Monday, April 2, 2018 in Sweetwater, Texas. She was 76. Sue was born in Blair, Texas and moved to Busby, Texas (Fisher County) while in grade school. Her parents later moved to Sweetwater, Texas. Sue graduated from Sweetwater High School as a member of the Class of 1959. She married after graduation and moved to Houston, Texas where she worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Cotton Oil Exchange. In 1966 she became a working mom. Life brought her back to Nolan County in 1975. She worked for the SISD and later MHMR/West Texas Centers. While employed at WTC she earned her college degree in Psychology from Liberty University at the age of 58. The Sue Turpin Montessori School in Clairmont, New Hampshire was named after Sue for her dedication to children and their education. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, John Stephen “Steve” Turpin.
