The Lady Hammers final preparation for District play: On December 12-14, the Lady Hammers participated in the Aspermont Tournament. I was informed that the team defeated Paduach 44-20 on December 12 and lost a close game to Guthrie by the score of 34-37. The team played at 3:30 PM (December 14) against the Lady Buffs of Cross Plains, to determine which team would win third place in the Tournament. It was a low scoring game, as the Lady Hammers trailed 13-25 at the end of the second period. At this point the team managed (only) two offensive rebounds against a very aggressive team…Brooklyn McArthur grabbed one rebound in the first period and Zoe Flores grabbed one in the second period. Flores, hustle is extraordinary! She faces different challenges on the court, but she accepts it. Her attitude (her extraordinary effort) is a signature of ‘A Champion’ on the court. The Lady Hammers started the third period with a 4-0 run to close the gap (17-25) with 5:59 remaining in this period.
