Aspermont Hornets on a winning streak before winter storm caused tournament to be canceled

The Aspermont Hornets hosted a basketball tournament this wintry weekend and advanced to the championship game. Unfortunately, the championship game was cancelled on Saturday due to bad weather. In the first round of the tournament, the Hornets were paired with the Benjamin Mustangs. The first quarter started slowly for the Hornets and the Mustangs took a 1 pt lead in the first quarter 10-11. In the second quarter, the Hornets were warmed up and decided to tune up their defense. This cost Benjamin dearly, allowing the Mustangs to score only 4 pts. The Hornet offense then starting sinking more baskets adding 15 to the total. At the end of the half, the Hornets had taken the lead over the Mustangs 25-15. After halftime, the swarm was buzzing and continued with the great defensive strategy and yet again allowed Benjamin to score 4 pts in the 3rd quarter. The offense stepped up their game as well and had several players score and the Hornets racked up 17 pts.
