Trouble at Aspermont Lake

In response to complaints of noise and unusual traffc to and from Aspermont Lake, city offcials looked into the matter, discovering several areas of concern. Aspermont City Administrator Lorenzo Calamaco reported his findings to the council on Tuesday, and the city is working to address those issues in the upcoming months.

Texas honey production tops 7.4 million pounds

City of Rotan paints it black

Rotan Director of Public Works Rodney Denton works on the line that feeds water to the fire hydrant on the corner of E. Sammy Baugh Ave. and S. McKinley Ave. This black-topped hydrant has a twisted stem that was blocking the flow of water.

AISD Theater Program

The Aspermont Theatre Program will be performing two productions on November 9 at 6:30. The first show will be this year's Junior High One Act Play entry entitled, “The Orphan Train”. The second show will be an old fashion melodrama, “Shame of Tombstone”. Both cast and crews would like to extend to you an open invitation to join us for a night of fun. Between the two shows we will also be conducting our annual cake auction. So, plan now to attend and help support the Aspermont Theatre Program.

Lions Club Conducts Vision Screening at Local Schools

Members of the Roby Lions Club have been busy doing volunteer community service by conducting vision screenings at local schools. Lions Carolyn Hargrove and Fredda Buckner met Lion Steve Mackey of the Snyder Lions Club at Rotan September 23rd to screen new students and those in kindergarten, first, third, fifth and seventh grades. Clearfork Health Center Manager, Angela Messick, also assisted. Under the direction of Rotan ISD’s Nurse, Kayla Gonzalez. the group screened approximately 111 students.

Local fall festivals begin this Saturday in Aspermont and Rotan will follow to host its festival on Halloween night. Event coordinators are pleased to welcome everyone out for fun, food, and plenty to do during these spooky and entertainment-packed festivals.
