Jesucita (Susie) Medrano Barrera, 90, passed away peacefully in Rotan on Wednesday, September 2, 2020. She was born in Hobbs, TX to parents, Alfredo and Carlota Mijares Medrano. Susie married the love of her life Ismael Barrera on January 6, 1951 in Rotan where they made their home and raised their family.

Roby-María García Castor, 93, passed away peacefully in her home, Sunday, September 6, 2020. Rosary will be 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2020, at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rotan.

George “Ann” Peterson (Bradshaw) a widow of Midwest City, OK went to be with The Lord on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2020 at the age of 81. She was born in August, 1939 in Abilene, TX, to George and Estelle Bradshaw.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father Dr. Etherero H. Akinshegun, on the morning of July 20th, 2020. Born July 9th, 1940, he lived his childhood years in Rotan, TX. At the time of his death he was a resident of Tuskegee, AL. Dr. Akinshegun served in the Army and went on to achieve a higher education that culminated in receiving a PhD in Counseling Psychology.

Longtime former resident of Roby, Ellen Deaton, 90, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 30, 2020 in her home in Burkburnett, Texas. Services will be held on September 4, 2020 with viewing prior to the service at Weathersbee Ray Funeral Home of Rotan from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. and graveside service at 11:00 a.m. at the Roby Cemetery.
