Rotan-Wanda Jean (Simmons) Acker, 85, passed away August 8, 2020, in Robert Lee. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 14, 2020, in Sardis Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.

Born November 20, 1934, in Aspermont. Wanda was the daughter of the late Charles Williams and Ora Lee (Loggins) Simmons. She married Allin (Shorty) Acker on October 16, 1953, in Clovis New Mexico. Wanda was an avid reader, enjoyed listening to music, working in the garden and sewing. She was a member of the Baptist Church of Peacock.

Wanda is preceded in death by her husband (Allin Acker), sisters (Bessie McAnelly, Billie Childress, Larue Simmons, Fran Haupt), and brothers (Carl D. Simmons, Charles Simmons, Mac Simmons, John Simmons, and Tommy Simmons).

Survivors include two sons, Forrest Acker and Gary Acker (Spouse Annette); four daughters, Dianna McKinney (Spouse Monte), Lisa Gomez (Spouse Robert), and Carol Boyd (Spouse Brad); one daughter-in-law, Brenda Acker; one brother, Leon Simmons; three sisters-in-law, Elaine Simmons, Peggy Simmons, and Mary Grisham; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
