February 9, 1940 — October 7, 2023

Judith Morrow Boyd Hirschfeld, age 83, passed away suddenly on October 7, 2023. Judith was born February 9, 1940, to Lillian and Preston Morrow in Rotan, Texas. She grew up in Rotan and graduated from Texas Tech University. She was a proud Air Force wife to the late William Boyd and taught school wherever they were stationed. She continued to support all branches of the United States Military throughout her life. She spent the last ten years of her career as the Volunteer Coordinator for Hospice of San Angelo. Judith married David L. Hirschfeld on June 21, 1992, and they recently celebrated their thirty-first wedding anniversary. Together, they supported many charitable organizations throughout their marriage but anything to do with animals became her passion. She was very active in Weimaraner Rescue and adopted 10 dogs over the years. In honor of her love of all animals, they created The Judith and David Adoption Center for Concho Valley PAWS (Pets Are Worth Saving) which opened in 2020 and provides a facility for rehoming and adoption of pets in need.

Judith was an active member of First Methodist Church and was a proud member of the Bayith Sunday School class. Throughout the years, she volunteered in children’s ministries, youth ministries, and provided a helping hand whenever it was needed.

Judith was a beaming mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife, and friend who never met a stranger. She was a big fan of her Alma Mater, Texas Tech, the Texas A&M Aggies, and her hometown Angelo State University. She was very supportive of her communities through her generous involvement in national and local Republican politics. She enjoyed entertaining at her ‘legendary’ parties and loved to be “dressed to the nines”!

Welcoming Judith to Heaven were her first husband, William Boyd, and her parents, Lillian and Preston Morrow. Those left to miss her on earth are her husband, David; her son, Ted Boyd and wife Kim; her brother Preston Morrow and wife Joyce and their children; her grandsons: Harrison Boyd and Hayden Boyd; David’s children: David Hirschfeld, Jr and wife Betty, Shawnee Ingrum, Kendall Hirschfeld and wife Lisa, and Wendall Hirschfeld and wife Scarlet; David’s grandchildren, who loved her dearly: Alyssa & Colin Dudley, Austin & Megan Ingrum, Aaron & Ellie Ingrum, David Hirschfeld, III, Jacy & Will Meyer, William Miles Hirschfeld, Katy Hirschfeld, Chris & Bonnie Hirschfeld, Amanda Hirschfeld, Grayson Anderson and fiancée Sarah Mays, Robert Hirschfeld, and Sydney Anderson; David’s great-grandchildren: Grayson Dudley and Bennett Ingrum.

The family would like to thank Dr. Darrell Herrington and the staff and doctors in the Emergency Department at Shannon Hospital for their outstanding care of Judith. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to The Judith and David Adoption Center at PAWS – PO Box 2604 – San Angelo, Texas 76902 or First Methodist Church – 37 E. Beauregard – San Angelo, Texas 76903.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023 at 2:00 PM at First Methodist Church.
