Michael Lee Carter

Michael Lee Carter passed away peacefully on November 20, 2023 in Lubbock, TX surrounded by family. Mike was born on March 7, 1940 in Pampa, TX. He was preceded in death by his wife Beulah Carter, son Michael Carter and daughter Kelly Carter, parents Aurthur and Vernie Jo Carter, and brother Pat Carter. He is survived by his brother Terry Carter, his daughters Lorrie (Randy) Anding and Karla (Robert) Freeze, and son Joel Carter.

Mike was a great listener, storyteller and cherished his morning conversations over breakfast with friends. He was known for having a strong will, stubbornness, and a great sense of humor, but also as being generous, loyal, and devoted.

Mike was a proud grandfather to Darrin Anding, Sarah Goetz, Lauren Snelling, Aaron Cannon, Madeline Carter, Tara Chandler, Lewis Chandler, and Kaitlyn Freeze, great-grandfather to Kyndall, Graham, Carter, Nolan, Noah, Callan, Emry, and James.

Mike will be remembered for his kind heart, his sense of humor, and his devotion to family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A funeral service will be held on November 28 at 1:00pm (Viewing 11:00am-1:00pm) at Terpening & Son Mortuary in Artersia, NM. Gravesite burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery.
