Tommy Joe Messick of Peacock TX, 79, passed away July 30th, 2023 suddenly at home. Services 10:00 am Thursday August 3rd at First Baptist Church in Peacock .Burial at Double Mountain Cemetery Peacock Tx under the direction of GilesMcCoy Funeral. Visitation Wednesday August 2nd, 5pm to 7pm Aspermont TX at Giles McCoy funeral home. He was born on February 19th 1944 in Hamlin TX to Charlie and Minnie Lou Messick. He married the love of his life Sherry Jo Perry on Feb 18th 1962. They had two children Marcielle Gail Messick and Tommy Joe Messick. He rode horses for people in his younger years and loved buying and trading horses. He loved everything about the cowboy way of life and ranching. He enjoyed taking both his kids to rodeos and later in life enjoyed watching his grand kids and great grand kids rodeo. Nothing made him happier than spending time with family. He loved his family with everything he had and took care of them until the end. Anyone who knew Tommy knew he enjoyed picking on people and that there would always be a laugh if he was around. He was a simple man who loved the simple things in life who will be greatly missed by many.

He is preceded in death by his parents Charlie Ford Messick and Minnie Lou Messick. Brothers Gene Messick, Larry Messick and Loyd Messick. Sisters Loretta Smith and Wanda Hennig. Great Granddaughter Brooke Ballard.

He is survived by Daughter Marcy Messick Baker and Husband Curtis Baker. Son Tommy Joe Messick. Grandchildren Brandye Ballard and Husband Nate, Hannah Alvarez and Husband Arden, Ramzi Caddell and husband Chandler, Hadley Holland and wife Cassey, Huntyr Messick and significant other Dylan Fulton, Talyn Billingsley and husband Kyler and Karson Valentine and fiancee Katie Whitted. Brother Gary Messick and wife Linda, Sisters Nola Messick, Von Martinez and husband Rudy, Gwen Graves and husband Al.

Great grandchildren Cason, Harlie & Tynlee Ballard, Kail Wilson-Alvarez, Arlyss Alvarez, Spade Messick, Brazos Caddell, Cameron, Harper & Sawyer Holland, Brock Fulton, Colter Baker.
